The Indian Olympiad Qualifier Exam in Chemistry (IOQC) is organized by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) every year for students of classes 9 to 12.
Students have to first qualify this exam in order to appear for International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO).

Here's a video for the same:
Eligibility Criteria for IOQC:
- Only those holding the Indian passport can take part in IOQC. Date of Birth also matters, hence kindly check the official IAPT website to know if you are eligible or not.
- Only those students studying in classes12 or lower can sit in this exam.
- The student must not be appearing for IOQJS. But he/she can appear in all other Olympiads like IOQA, IOQM and IOQB.
IOQC Question Paper Pattern:
* Please note that because of the Covid Pandemic, the question paper pattern has changed entirely for 2020-2021*

IOQC 2020 Question Paper Analysis:
This time, due to the pandemic, the pattern was entirely changed. Previously, there used to happen two levels of exams on different dates, but this time they merged the two levels on one date.
This meant that the time given to each level decreased considerably, which also meant questions were of greater variety.
Previously, a student who was in class 11 could also clear the exam because the number of questions from class 11 were high. But this time around, questions from class 11 were relatively less.
For Part 1:
As always, more questions were from Organic Chemistry (mostly class 12). Next was physical chemistry (class 11) and inorganic chemistry (class 11).
For Part 2:
Almost all questions required deeper understanding of Organic Chemistry (Class 12). Only two questions were related to physical chemistry, that too of deeper understanding.
Over all, passing the Part 1 of this examination was somewhat difficult for a class 11 student while it was easier for a student of class 12. This was because of the fact that questions in Part 1 weren't much deep but covered a variety of topics.
